Residential Fire Facility

The facility was originally developed as part of research conducted by Tyne & Wear Metropolitan Fire Brigade to establish and monitor the changing internal environment during deployment of PPV.

Chiltern Fire has worked closely with Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service to further develop the facility as a training centre that meets the Brigade’s PPV training requirements. DO Bryan Dugdale, who co-ordinated Bucks’ PPV implementation, commented: "The facilities offered by Chiltern Fire offered us a unique opportunity to develop and refine our PPV operational procedures in a situation where they are most likely to be needed".

Support services

  • Technical support - Chiltern Fire’s engineers are able to provide support on all levels to integrate with your training needs.
  • Monitoring - All internal training environments are monitored for gas temperature and gas concentrations, real time graphical displays can be provided for debriefing sessions.
  • Safety - Method statements and risk assessments are developed in conjunction with training officers and Union officials.
  • Time - To maximise the time available for training, facilities are set-up before you arrive.
  • Flexible - Chiltern Fire’s flexible training environment can be tailored to suit your exact needs.
