A practical demonstration and explanation of the principles, process and practicalities of air tightness testing of buildings to meet the revised 2010 Approved Document L requirements.
Overview:
- The revised Approved Document L requirements
- The implications of the changes
- The impact of air permeability on overall building energy performance
- The testing procedure and process
- The key areas to consider when creating the air barrier
- Typical problems experienced on site
The day is aimed at:
- Building contractors
- House builders
- Building control
- Approved inspectors
- Architects
In-house Training
- In-house ‘lunchtime’ CPD seminars (1-2 hours)
- In-house half-day CPD seminars (3-4 hours)
- On-site demonstrations (half or full day) – testing of a completed building including a report for benchmarking or compliance, identification and demonstration of air leakage paths and re-testing with problem areas sealed. Enabling site staff/managers to understand the process and ‘feel’ the impact of their work.
- On-site demonstration and seminars (half or full day) – as above, combined with the seminars from the Air Tightness Testing Explained programme. Ideal for site and/or office staff.
