The Q-Mark high performance window scheme was introduced to allow manufacturers of timber windows to demonstrate that their products perform at a higher level than those covered under the entry level General performance scheme.

Using the Q-Mark Window General Performance scheme for timber windows as the basis, further requirements are assessed and tested to ensure that products are designed and produced to an exceptionally high standard that will have longer longevity in service.
The scheme incorporates cyclic testing to EN 1191 and an assessment of the design and construction by experts at TRADA Technology and can also incorporate the General Enhanced Security scheme for complete coverage.
Achieving certification involves initial type testing, TRADA assessment and factory production control audits. Maintaining certification involves periodic audit testing and factory production control audits.
