Fire doors save lives and protect property and as such it is vital that they are manufactured, installed, specified and checked correctly. BM TRADA offers comprehensive certification for timber fire doors, through its Q-Mark manufacturing and installation schemes.
The Q-Mark scheme has four categories:
- Doorset manufacture – the member owns the design and manufactures the finished doorset completely from raw materials
- Door blank supplier – the member owns the design, but the blanks are sold to fabricators who turn them into finished doorsets
- Fabricator – the member uses Q-Mark approved door blanks to produce finished doorsets
- Registered installer – the member installs fire doorsets to an appropriate standard. To Q-Mark the doorset it should be made by the same or another Q-Mark member.
