The Enhanced Security Q-Mark schemes for doors and windows were introduced to support the testing requirements for Secured By Design (SBD), the police initiative to reduce crime on housing developments by incorporating crime prevention measures at the design stage.
Doors - BS 6375 and PAS 24 testing for 'General' and 'Enhanced security' performance of door assemblies.
Certification is a current requirement for entrance doors in SBD developments. Third-party certification provides the assurance that the windows/doorsets installed on site meet the same high standards as those tested and therefore offer the same protection.
