Chiltern Dynamics has signed a contract with Carter Lauren Construction to carry out air tightness and sound testing as part of their design and build programme for brewers Marston's plc. The first premises tested was The Honey Bee in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and the building passed both tests with excellent results.
Carter Lauren, the largest privately-owned construction company in South Wales, have firm principles about the way people should work and live. They aim to design and build ‘innovative human environments while protecting our natural environment and making sure that the actions we take today, make tomorrow a better place’. According to Director Kevin Jenkins, that means achieving ‘not just a minimum pass in something as important as air tightness testing, but aiming for first class results’.
Carter Lauren selected Chiltern Dynamics as their test partner for the Marston’s programme, because it offered the right qualifications and has a nationwide team of test engineers – the Marston’s chain stretches from Newquay to Newcastle. Members of ATTMA and also BINDT-registered, Chiltern Dynamics is UKAS-accredited to carry out both air tightness and sound testing. Operations Manager Tom Gregory said, ‘There are clear links between good sound insulation and air tightness performance. By being able to test for both, we can offer clients an effective, value for money service. Carter Lauren are a pleasure to work with because for them build quality comes first.’
