Fire doors for the health sector - site training

Fire Doors for the Health Sector Explained

Chiltern International Fire (CIF), with sister company BM TRADA Certification, has developed an ‘on the road’ seminar day, tailored to the demands of the health sector.  Through working closely with health sector professionals, CIF has identified ‘a number of fire safety challenges specific to hospitals and nursing homes’, said Senior Consultant Peter Barker. ‘Patients present a wide range of dependencies, so it is critical that doorsets within hospital environments serve their purpose with respect to fire resistance and compartmentation to allow for phased evacuation.‘

CIF will bring Fire Doors for the Health Sector Explained to the workplace, to presents an overview of fire door design, manufacture, testing, installation and certification, including a site tour, unique to this course.  The programme also includes background to regulatory requirements, including the role of fire doors in progressive horizontal evacuation (Firecode – fire safety in the NHS (HTM 05-02) and the effect of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, with plenty of time for discussion.

The training day has been snapped up by healthcare professionals, including facilities and property managers, fire officers, building contractors and installers. To book a session, contact the CIF Consultancy team on 01494 569833 or email training@chilternfire.co.uk.
