Chiltern International Fire and BM TRADA Certification have expanded their Timber Fire Doors Explained training course in response to feedback from delegates. As Marketing Manager Graham Edwards explained, ‘Even though the existing course is highly regarded and as popular as ever, we felt that we could make further enhancements. We put various options to previous delegates and there was a general consensus that an in-depth step-by-step guide to fire door installation, door plugging and the certification process would be a valuable addition to the package.’
The fire doorset is a complex product and an error in installation can seriously compromise its performance. Graham added ‘Whilst we will continue to make this point very clearly to delegates on the one-day course and provide a general overview on installation, in extending the course by half a day, specifically for installers, we can provide a deeper understanding of the knowledge they will need to install fire doorsets correctly.
The seminar is only open to provisional members of the BM TRADA Q-Mark Registered Installer Scheme, which provides reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that their chosen product has been installed correctly. Successful completion of Timber Fire Doors Explained, including the installers’ course and a written examination, is a requirement of the installer scheme.
