Chiltern International Fire (CIF) and sister company BM TRADA Certification have broadened the scope of their popular ‘Fire Doors Explained’ training days to cover both steel and composite fire doors, as well as timber. Deputy Technical Manager Mark Cummings explained, ‘We have seen a sharp increase in demand for testing of composite and steel doorsets. It is therefore appropriate to highlight some of the issues involved with the manufacture of different types of fire doors. Sharing best practice has always been an important part of the discussion during the day. Specifiers are increasingly demanding that suppliers and installers of all types of fire doors are third-party certified, so demand for our courses continues to grow from all market sectors.’
The new ‘Fire Doors Explained’ one-day courses will take place at CIF’s High Wycombe headquarters on the following dates in 2011: 15th February, 7th April, 9th June, 29th September and 24th November. For the third year running, the cost has been held at £310 + VAT (standard) with a discounted rate of £275 + VAT for TRADA members. A half-day seminar following each full day course, ie on 16th February, 8th April, 10th June, 30th September and 25th November, is open to provisional BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Registered Installers, on completion of the Fire Doors Explained day.
A new online booking system has been introduced by Chiltern International Fire to make it more convenient for delegates to book their place. Visit www.chilternfire.co.uk/training.
