Chiltern Fire brings training course to Ireland

Timber Fire Doors Explained delegates witnessing a test

Following the successful launch of their popular Timber Fire Doors Explained training events in Ireland last year, Chiltern International Fire and sister company BM TRADA Certification have set dates for further one-day events in Northern Ireland and Eire in 2007.

The ‘explained’ days are aimed at fire door installers, property managers, specifiers and approved inspectors. The programme covers:

  • Background to the test requirements
  • Anatomy of fire resistant doors
  • Installation of fire resistant doorsets
  • Test reports & assessments
  • Introduction to BM TRADA Certification’s Q-Mark fire doors scheme.

The day will culminate in a film of a full-scale one-hour fire resistance test taken at Chiltern Fire’s test laboratory

‘Delegates appreciate that fire doors save lives as well as protecting property. It’s essential that they are manufactured, specified, installed and inspected correctly in every circumstance,’ said Chiltern Fire Engineer Mark Gannon.

The courses will take place on the following dates:

  • 27 March - Great Southern Hotel, Dublin
  • 22 May - Radisson SAS Hotel, Cork
  • 17 July - Galway Bay Hotel, Galway
  • 16 Oct - The Dunadry Hotel, Belfast.

The cost is €180 or £125 + VAT for TRADA members and €200 or £140 + VAT for non-members.
