We offer UKAS-accredited fire resistance testing for a wide variety of products used in construction including:
- Doorsets (timber, composite and steel) BS 476: Part 22 and BS EN 1634-1
- Load bearing walls BS 476: Part 21 and BS EN 1365-1
- Penetration seals BS EN 1366-3
- Linear joint seals BS EN 1366-4
- Partitions and glazed screens BS 476: Part 22 and BS EN 1364-1
- Active fire barrier curtains BS 476: Part 22 and BS EN 1634-1
We manage test programmes on behalf of our clients in areas such as fire performance of structural glazing, fire protection of steelwork and performance testing of load bearing floors.
We also design ad-hoc fire test programmes for a range of bespoke projects in order to demonstrate whether products are fit for purpose.
During the testing stage, we continue to make every effort to ensure that the test programme goes as smoothly and seamlessly as possible. We often provide our clients with the services of our on-site technical team to handle critical aspects of the testing process. Examples include:
- For door testing, our technical team provides a full support service to ensure the test specimen is assembled and installed correctly. We also have workshop facilities enabling further work to doorsets as required, including a supply of hardware, intumescent seals and glazing systems.
- For penetration sealing systems, we recognise that is often difficult to obtain all the cables, pipes and support systems that the standard specifies, so we source and supply these materials when required.
Our testing service is supported by experienced fire consultants who can assist in developing test programmes, explaining the test procedure, witnessing tests and reviewing the results.
We have prepared a document to explain the testing process, particularly for those undertaking testing for the first time.
