Chiltern International Fire has recently completed a 4-year refurbishment programme of our fire resistance testing laboratories, a result of which means we now operate one of the most advanced facilities anywhere in the UK.

The new expanded facility enables us to offer a broader scope of testing and research and development work, backed by industry leading technical expertise.

Our fire resistance testing facilities include:

3m x 3m Vertical Fire Resistance Furnace
This full-scale vertical fire test furnace can accommodate a variety of specimen configurations and is capable of testing up to 1250°C.

1.5m x 1.5m x 1.5 m Combination Fire Resistance Furnace
This furnace can test  multiple fire-stopping components and can be used for research and development testing before moving up to full-scale testing of larger fire safety products such as doorsets.

3m x 2m Horizontal Fire Resistance Furnace
This fire test furnace is dedicated primarily to penetration seal and linear joint seal testing. This furnace was refurbished in 2008, to incorporate a highly sophisticated data logging and control system.

Workshops
We operate joinery and metal workshops, allowing us to assemble specimens, carry out last minute adjustments and provide supporting constructions.
