Chiltern Dynamics has been accepted as a member of The Air Tightness Testing and Measurement Association (ATTMA), further reinforcing its high standards of professionalism as an accredited air tightness testing body.

A prerequisite of membership is accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17025, with a scope covering air tightness testing to CIBSE TM23.

‘This third-party accreditation demonstrates the technical competence of ATTMA members to carry out air tightness testing, including calibration of the equipment used and training of staff carrying out the test, ‘ said Head of Chiltern Dynamics’ Energy Services Department Tom Gregory. ‘ATTMA membership further sets us apart from competitors, as we are now one of only eight companies able to offer both UKAS accreditation and the ATTMA seal of approval.’

ATTMA members must also have appropriate safety policies and procedures in place and carry adequate insurance cover. ‘This of course we do and it enables main contractors and other clients to have total confidence in us,’ Mr Gregory added.

The Energy Section has recently expanded, with the appointment of two test engineers to extend its coverage of air tightness testing within the UK.

Nathan Roberts, based in Bristol, and Stephen Reeve, based in Barnsley, will report to department head Tom Gregory. He said, ‘Nathan and Steve both bring with them invaluable experience of both construction and engineering, which fits well with our team.’

Airtightness testing is now compulsory for new buildings, under Part L of the Demand for testing has grown rapidly since April last year.
