Taylor Woodrow and Chiltern International Fire have worked closely together to develop what is a unique fire test facility in the UK. The 10M x 10M x 6M concrete-lined large-scale fire test facility is perfectly suited to solving real life fire safety problems. It is capable of containing 6MW fires and has been used to prove many types of fire suppression and detection systems, in different applications.

Equally important, tests can be set up in a controllable and repeatable manner. This means that any data obtained can subsequently be used to validate computer models, so that those models may be used with greater confidence in similar applications.

The size of the facility allows for testing to IMO, British, European and other international Standards on a wide range of applications, from small scale to building mock-ups. Toxicity and temperature levels can be monitored. Furthermore, with plenty of open space available at the Technology Centre, bespoke open air testing on a larger scale is also possible.

The combined expertise and resources provided by the Taylor Woodrow and Chiltern International Fire partnership makes possible previously unmanageable testing.
